We Are His Completeness............

TUESDAY 01 ·

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence (Colossians 1:18).
Pastor Chris
Everything that comes out of God is God. In John 6:63, the Lord Jesus said, "…the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." Everything that comes out of Him has His identity, power, and life in it. Think about it: even the words He speaks carry His life. Now, this doesn’t mean everything that comes out of Him is His person, but that they carry His life. It’s like the human body: every part of your body, no matter how small, has your DNA, but this doesn’t mean every part of your body is you, per se. It’s the totality of all the parts that make up your person.
In the same way, did you know that Jesus isn’t complete without us? And by "us" I mean the Church. You may never have heard this before but it’s true. We’re one with Him (1 Corinthians 6:17); it’s the Father’s grand design for Him to need us just as we need Him: He’s our glory as we are His glory.
Ephesians 1:22-23 says, "And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all." He’s the one who fills everything (Ephesians 4:10), yet His fullness is the Church, which is His body. We’re His completeness, and we’re complete in Him: "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power" (Colossians 2:9-10).
This should help you understand your importance and relevance to Christ. You’re "in Him," and He’s "in you." Without you, He can’t reach the hurting and the lost in the world. Through you, He’s able to express His love to others on a daily basis, and establish His Kingdom in the hearts of men. You’re His extension here on earth because you hail from Him (1 John 4:4). This makes you a world overcomer because "… whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world…" (1 John 5:4).
Confession
The nature and glory of Christ is in me; therefore, I have what He says I have and I can do what He says I can do. No circumstance or situation is insurmountable to me, because I’m in Christ and my victory is assured in Him. I’m His glory just as He’s my glory. Halleluiah!

Keshi: Eagles can make history today........

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi says a place in the quarter-final should take precedence over his record as the first African to lead an African team to the second round at the FIFA World Cup.
Last year he became the first black African coach to have won the Africa Cup of Nations in 21 years, and last Wednesday he helped Nigeria secure a place in the round of 16 at Brazil 2014.
Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi
Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi
The former Nigeria captain said. “For me, my team and country come before any personal glory.
“That we made the second round and are able to achieve this against all odds is all that matters.”
There have been suggestions in some quarters that Keshi’s achievement in winning the Nations Cup and taking his team to the knock-out stages has not been given the value it should by the international media.
“What is important is to focus on what lies ahead – not Stephen Keshi and his record,” Keshi said.
Nigeria will face France for only the second time at senior level on Monday in Brasilia.
In their previous clash, the Super Eagles beat France 1-0 in a friendly in Saint Etienne in June 2009, but Keshi says it will be a different ball game against the French as Nigeria aim to equal Africa’s all time best.
Cameroon, Senegal and Ghana have all reached the quarterfinals in 1990, 2002 and 2010 respectively.
“We are not bothered about the past but only interested in this present day,” Keshi added.
“My boys know what I expect and our opponents will not make life easy for them.
“The Super Eagles have never made it to the quarterfinals so they can make history of their own.
“There’s no motivation bigger than that.”
Keshi is one of only two men who has won the Nations Cup as a player and a coach – the other being Egypt’s Mahmoud El-Gohary.
In 1994 Keshi captained the Super Eagles to their second continental success in Tunisia and 19 years later he was in charge of the side as they won the trophy for the third time in their history in South Africa.
He also led Togo to their first – and to date only – appearance at the World Cup finals, but was sacked a few months before Germany 2006. He is the only African coach to have qualified two nations to the World Cup tournament.

Attacks blamed on Boko Haram this year.......

LAGOS  (AFP) – A number of churches in northeast Nigeria were attacked by suspected Boko Haram Islamists on Sunday, near the town of Chibok where more than 200 teenage girls were kidnapped in April.
Witnesses say they fear that yet again, dozens have been killed.
Here are some of the deadly raids, kidnappings and bombings that have been linked to Boko Haram this year:
- February 15, 2014: An attack blamed on the extremist sect leaves more than 100 people dead in the mostly Christian village of Izghe in the north-eastern state of Borno.
- April 14: Gunmen kidnap 276 female high school students in Chibok, Borno. Fifty-seven managed to escape but the rest are still being held. Several foreign countries, including the United States, have joined forces to try to find the girls.
- April 14: A blast at a bus station packed with morning commuters at Nyanya, on the southern outskirts of Abuja, kills at least 75 people, the most deadly attack to date on the capital. Boko Haram claims responsibility. On May 1, a car bomb at the same spot kills 19, and leaves 80 injured.
- May 5: At least 300 people are killed in an attack in Gamboru Ngala, in Borno state near the border with Cameroon, which totally destroys the town.
- May 20: At least 118 are killed and 56 injured in two car bomb attacks on a market in Jos, central Nigeria, which go off within 20 minutes of each other. The regional governor blames Boko Haram.
- June 1: At least 40 are killed when a bomb explodes at a football stadium in Mubi in the north-east of the country shortly after a match. The attack is blamed on Boko Haram.
- June 3: Hundreds are feared dead in a suspected Boko Haram attack on four villages in Borno state, with local leaders putting the death toll as high as 500.
- June 17: 21 football fans are killed when a bomb rips through the viewing centre where they are watching the World Cup in Damaturu, northern Nigeria.
- June 24: Local officials report 30 killed and more than 60 women kidnapped in a series of attacks over several days in Borno state, although the Nigerian government denies the abductions.
- June 25: At least 21 people are killed and 17 injured in a bombing at a crowded shopping centre in the centre of Abuja. The attack — the third on the city in three months — is blamed on Boko Haram.
- June 29: Suspected Boko Haram gunmen riding on motorcycles target a number of churches during Sunday mass, opening fire on worshippers and chasing them into the bush. Witnesses fear dozens are killed.

The Master Soul Winner........

MONDAY 30

And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men (Matthew 4:19).
Pastor Chris
The Lord Jesus was a master soul winner. His examples of soul-winning in the Scriptures are very inspiring. In John 4:6-42, He encountered a certain woman at the well of Samaria, and engaged her in a conversation. The woman came to draw water from the well, and Jesus had a word of knowledge about her.
However, to get her attention, Jesus started out a conversation with her by talking about something that was of interest to her—the water. Upon getting her full attention, the Master said, "…Give me a drink of water" (John 4:7 GNB). From then on, the Master witnessed to the woman, who believed and went about telling others about Jesus.
Matthew chapter 4 tells us another beautiful story of how Jesus walked along the shores of Lake Galilee, and saw two brothers who were fishermen: Simon Peter and his brother Andrew. Then the Master said to them, "…Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men" (Matthew 4:19). The Master always knew how to engage others in a conversation on a subject that was of interest to them, in a bid to witness to them.
If you’ve often wondered how to engage people in a conversation in order to preach the Gospel to them, emulate the strategy of the Master. Observe what such folks might be interested in, and initiate a conversation along that line.
For example, he may be reading a newspaper or magazine, try to observe what he’s interested in, and ask a question or make a positive comment to get his attention. Perhaps, you want him to explain something to you, listen with rapt attention. If you do, he’s likely to also give you his attention when you start speaking to him.
Prayer Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for making me an effective soul winner; thank you for the opportunities you’ve set before me to witness and win souls and bring the light of your Word to many today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Sanctify Your Believing!

SUNDAY 29 ·

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Pastor Chris
It’s important for you as a Christian to sanctify your believing; to examine your faith and be sure you’ve not believed in the wrong thoughts or in the assumptions of men. There’re people who say, for example, "I know I believe in Jesus Christ, but He’s not the only messiah." No true believer in Jesus Christ will assume such a position.
As a true Christian, you must believe that salvation is by no other, except Jesus Christ. You can’t believe in Jesus Christ, and believe there’s also some other way for salvation; that’s unacceptable. Any professing Christian, who believes there’s another way to God, besides Jesus Christ, is confused and in error.
The Lord Jesus said, "…I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6). Notice, He didn’t say, "I am a way" or "one of the ways"; rather, in very definite and emphatic words, He said, "I am THE way, THE truth and THE life…." Jesus Christ, according to the Scriptures, is "…declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead" (Romans 1:4). No one else bears this testimony, except the Lord Jesus.
This is what we believe in Christianity: the Lord Jesus is the Saviour of the world, the Lord of heaven and earth, and the one that has brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. You must have times of personal reflection, when you review your faith and convictions, and ask yourself, "What have I really believed about the Lord Jesus Christ?" Be sure that your believing is consistent with the revealed truth of God’s Word.
Prayer
Precious Lord Jesus, I worship you for you are the Lord, the maker of all things! I thank you for your glory in my life, and for granting me the revelation of your righteousness. Amen.

THE RISKS FACING ADOPTED CHIBOK GIRLS

A Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist, Dr. Mashidat Mojeed-Bello, has raised the alarm that the memories of the over 200 schoolgirls abducted on April 14, 2014 by members of the dreaded Boko Haram in Chibok, Borno State, may have been affected due to their continued exposure to harsh environment.
She said the incident might have negatively affected the girls' major organs.
"Because of their exposure to rape and their rights trampled upon, their major organs may be negatively affected," she said.
She told Saturday PUNCH in an interview during the week that the girls might have been experiencing bodily reaction in different ways as a result of their rights that were being forcefully trampled upon.
Bello said, "Emotionally, the abduction will create anger in the girls; they will be angry with themselves and others. They will be experiencing serious depression. They may become hopeless and distrust of people around them; the girls will feel empty and constantly feel threatened. If the girls are released or rescued, they may want to hate schooling because aggression may have set in. The harsh condition to which they have been subjected may also change their personalities."
Bello, however, urged the government to involve relevant professional communities in the rehabilitation of the girls after their release.
To a Gynecologist, Dr. Olanrewaju Ekunji, the abducted schoolgirls would develop phobia for sex, adding that they were prone to the risk of sexually-transmitted diseases, which might affect their reproductive organs.

Ghana’s coach optimistic Nigeria, Algeria will progress further.....

Abuja – Ghana’s under-20 women football team coach, Bashir Hayford, has expressed optimism that Nigeria and Algeria would advance further than the Round of 16 at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Bashir told newsmen on the sidelines of his team’s international friendly match on Friday in Abuja against Nigeria’s Falconets that both countries have made Africa proud.
Nigeria and Algeria are the only African countries left at the ongoing 2014 World Cup, after five countries started out on June 12 when the competition began.
Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana had all crashed out of the competition after the first round group phase of matches.
“Since we have only two African countries left, our support has shifted to them as our representatives over there. So, we are looking forward to them putting up a good fight.
“And I believe that both teams have the chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals,’’ Hayford said.
Nigeria qualified for the second round on Wednesday, in spite of their 2-3 loss to Argentina in their last Group F match.
Algeria on the other hand qualified on Thursday after holding Russia to a 1-1 draw.
Nigeria will now confront France on June 30 at the Estadio Nacional in Brassilia, while Algeria will face Germany at the Estadio Beira-Rio in Porto Alegre on the same day.(NAN)

Record-breaking teen Shaw joins United.......

AFP) – England left-back Luke Shaw became the most expensive teenage footballer in history after joining Manchester United from Premier League rivals Southampton in a four-year deal worth a reported £30 million (51m, 38m euros).
That figure surpassed the £25.6m fee United paid Everton for Wayne Rooney in 2004.

“Manchester United is delighted to announce the signing of Luke Shaw from Southampton Football Club,” a United statement said.
The 18-year-old Shaw, whose contract contains an option for a further year, signed for United on Friday.
His arrival at Old Trafford meant United had announced an estimated £60m of spending in two days after completing their first signing since Louis van Gaal, currently coaching the Netherlands at the World Cup, became their manager after midfielder Ander Herrera joined from Athletic Bilbao for a reported £28.5m on Thursday.
“I am thrilled and excited to be joining Manchester United,” the teenager said after passing a medical in a statement on United’s website.
“I have been at Southampton since I was eight years old and I would like to thank them and the fans for everything they have done for me,” added Shaw, who made 67 appearances for the south coast club since his debut in 2012.
But he said he’d no hesitation in joining United.
“I want to continue to progress my career and joining United is the ideal place for me to do that. I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life and also looking forward to learning from the world-class players and management at the club.”
Shaw won the third of his three England caps in the goalless draw with Costa Rica that saw Roy Hodgson’s men, already eliminated following defeats by Italy and Uruguay, conclude their disappointing World Cup.
He was the youngest player to feature at Brazil 2014 thus far.
“Luke is a very talented young left-back with great potential” said United assistant manager Ryan Giggs.
“He has developed immensely during his time at Southampton and has all the attributes to become a top player.
“I am delighted he has joined Manchester United as I believe this is the right club for him to continue his development as a young player and eventually fulfil that promise.”

Lagos – Nine men and a woman were on Friday arraigned at an Igbosere Chief Magistrates Court in Lagos, over the alleged assault of three women at the Oba Morufu International Market, Ejigbo, Lagos.
The accused include: Isiaka Waidi, 60; Azeez Akinosun, 35; Saheed Adisa, 28; Jimoh Busari, 49; Tijani Lateef, 37 and Adekunle Adenuga, 57.

Akinosun, Adisa and Busari also face additional charges of conspiracy, managing an unlawful society and unlawful assembly.
While, Lateef, Adenuga, Adisa and Dauda are facing charges of conspiracy and neglect to prevent felony.
The accused, however, denied the charges.
The prosecutor, ASP Charles Odii, told a packed courtroom that the accused committed the offences alongside others now at large on Feb. 11, 2013 at the Oba Morufu International Market, Ejigbo, Lagos.
He said Waidi, Akinosun, Adisa, Busari and Abdullahi conspired with others now at large to commit murder.
Odii said the accused assaulted one Miss Juliana Agoma, Mrs Ajoke Agoma and Mrs Nike Salami by inserting ground pepper into their private parts.
The prosecutor said that Waidi also demanded N50,000 from one Mr Fima Agoma and threatened to injure him and kill his wife and daughter, if he failed to pay the money.
He said that Akinosun, Adisa, Busari assisted in the management of an unlawful society called Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) and also took part in an unlawful assembly at the market.
The prosecutor said that Dauda, the head of the Market Women’s Association, Lateef and Adenuga neglected to prevent the commission of the offences at the market.
He said that they were aware of the torture of the women and failed to use all reasonable means to avoid or stop the torture.
Odii said that the offences were in violation of Sections 41, 44(4), 134, 231, 299, 408 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Section 299 prescribes 14 years imprisonment for anyone convicted of the offence of conspiring to commit murder.

She also directed that the case file be duplicated and transferred to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), for advice. (NAN)

Kings Exercise Authority.......

SATURDAY 28 ·

And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen (Revelation 1:6).
Pastor Chris
Without the knowledge of the fact that he’s the heir-apparent to the throne, an heir is not different from the servant. Galatians 4:1 says, "…the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all." Likewise, as a child of God, you’re a king, and it’s important you know and live accordingly. Kings reign and exercise authority; they don’t talk casually as ordinary men, neither do they beg! It’s not enough to just know this, it has to become your mindset; the only way you reason! You’re called to reign in life: "For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ" (Romans 5:17).
Ecclesiastes 8:4 says, "Where the word of a king is, there is power…." Kings make decrees and proclamations and have them established: "Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee…" (Job 22:28). You can have everything you say, because your words are backed with power. This will let you know what your prayer life should be like: you’re to exercise your authority in Christ Jesus; not beg!
Some Christians beg everywhere and for everything, which is wrong. They beg at work, at home, in the office, and even beg God in prayer, simply because they haven’t fully understood their heritage in Christ. Don’t beg for your health; don’t beg for money; don’t beg for God’s help; don’t beg for anything! Don’t beg for what’s rightfully yours in Christ. It wasn’t by your request, choice or idea, that God made you a king; He did it of His own volition. Your response, therefore, is to live the kingly life. Exercise authority over Satan, sickness, disease, and the negativities of life.
If it’s a growth somewhere in your body, tell it to dematerialize in the Name of Jesus. It might even be a situation at work, school or in your home, say what you want to see and it shall be so. Exercise your God-given authority today.
Confession
I maintain my victory over Satan and the cohorts of darkness. My life is full of peace, and I’m making progress from glory to glory, living in the victory of Christ! It’s success and prosperity for me all the way, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

"I made the greatest mistake of my life" -- Pregnant Actress Uche Ogbodo confirms her 10Month old marriage has crashed...(DETAILS)

Barely a year after Nollywood actress, Uche Ogbodo married her beau, a Norway based ex footballer Apo Arthur, she has confirmed toSDK that her marriage has hit the blocks.

Last year on Saturday October 5, 2013, the heavily pregnant Uche Ogbodo had a quiet traditional wedding to Ato Ubby and insiders squealed that a can of worms was opened after the news of their ‘marriage’ hit the net.

Ever since her pregnancy, Uche has been off the scenes and is presently in America where she is expected to have her baby. She confirmed few Months back that it was the decision of her husband that she stay abroad to have the baby
She finally decided to respond after a few questions and in tears and breathing heavily explained how she made the mistake of her life but is forging on for the sake of her baby.

Catch the excerpts with SDK after the jump:

Hello Uche, I have a few quick questions for you. I heard your barely a year old marriage has crashed, is this true?

Well that may be true but what isn't true is that it wasn't really marriage yet because it wasn't fully formalised, we were still in the process of formalising it when all hell broke loose, so I was merely Engaged to be married to Ato Ubby.
It was just an introduction? Why didn’t you clear that impression all this while?
I just felt there was no need to do so because the wedding plans was to follow shortly, unfortunately it didn’t because things didn’t work out the way it should. I walked into a no-win situation.
What happened?
This is really a hard question to answer, but all I can say is that barely one month into the engagement and in the process of planning a formal wedding I realised I had made the greatest mistake of my life. The Foundation of the Union was based On lies and deceit..shocking lies. We had been dating for a almost year and I thought I knew it all but nothing prepared me for what unfolded.
Is he married already?
No, he isnt married to anyone else
You got pregnant in the process?
On the verge of trying to salvage the situation I found out I was expecting a child. I kept quiet to the rumours making the rounds because I was left with the option of thinking for my child and trying to salvage a dead situation but now I have finally made up my mind to break off the engagement and my reasons are irreconcilable.
Uche so you are saying you never got married and the engagement is off?
I just want to be left alone to take care of my Child. Stella I wasn't married I was engaged to be married but as things stand now, the engagement is officially broken due to irreconcilable differences and since I am having my baby soon, my doctors has advised me to rest as my health and that of my baby is the most important thing right now.
So you are the one walking away and not him? You want to go into details?
Yes i am the one walking out on the pack of lies, I am not going to pretend because I want to be married, I am not desperate and I would rather swallow my pride and accept I made a big mistake than forge ahead in lies. I am sorry I cannot go into details because I do not want to trade words or run my ex down because he is the father of the child I am carrying.
I am sorry if keeping quiet misled people into my status was already married.
The excitement of looking forward to birthing my child kinda numbs the shock and disappointment but I will be fine.
So after the introduction, the planned marriage was dead on arrival?
Exactly and all this while, we have been trying to settle the issues, thats probably how you got to hear of it.
Here's wishing you all the best Uche, we look forward to hearing the good news. God bless you.
Thank you Stella for calling to confirm. Thanks to everyone who has been understanding on this...for now, let me channel all my energy into positivity for my baby

“Such behaviour cannot be tolerated on any football pitch, and in particular not at a FIFA World Cup when the eyes of millions of people are on the stars on the field. The Disciplinary Committee took into account all the factors of the case and the degree of Mr Suárez’s guilt in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Code. The decision comes into force as soon it is communicated,” said Claudio Sulser, chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee.

Musa, Emenike ‘ll knock out France — Keshi

By Tony Ubani
Many out here in Brazil feel that the French national team have good players who can run down Nigeria when the two countries face each other in the second round of the World Cup on Monday.
Karim Benzema has been touted as the portent striker that would cause trouble for the Super Eagles who rattled Argentina before going down 3 -2.
Stephen Keshi was asked what he thought about the probability of Nigeria facing Karim Benzema. He replied quick as a flash: “And France will be facing Musa, Emenike … ”
There are reasons to be confident after a performance in which Eagles caused problems for Argentina and showed that on a good day, the African champions are as good as any of the teams to go all the way.
“All the teams are good. It doesn’t matter [who you face],” Keshi noted. “You have to appreciate that. It is only Nigeria that don’t appreciate that. Nigerians always think that every team we face we have to kill them 5-0, 10-0. It doesn’t work that way.”

110 victims of Kaduna attacks get mass burial

By Luka Binniyat
KADUNA— NO fewer than 110 victims of Monday and Tuesday’s killings in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State were, yesterday, given mass burial.
Chairman of the local government, Mr. Emmanuel Adamu confirmed this development in a telephone interview withVanguard.
The National Chairman of Ninzom Progressive Youth, Mr. Bezard Wuyah, who also confirmed the mass burial, said those buried included an unnamed Igbo trader and his wife. The victims were buried in a parcel of land between Gwantu Kurmi and Kobin near the local government.
Speaking on the issue, Adamu said: “We have just finished giving 110 people mass burial this (yesterday) afternoon. We had no choice, because their corpses were decomposing as a result of poor facilities at the hospitals.
“However, not all the dead were given mass burial. Some families were able to identify their loved ones, so they were allowed to take the bodies away. I cannot give the number of bodies taken away by families.
“All those that are injured will be treated by Sanga Local Government free of charge. Normalcy has returned with the beefing up of security in the area. Today (yesterday) we got eight Toyota Hilux loads of soldiers from Kaduna, who have come to join those already on ground.
“I want to appeal to all the people of Sanga to please forgive and leave vengeance to Almighty God. I beg everyone to remain law abiding, but vigilant.”
On his part, Wuyah said: “This (yesterday) afternoon, our people who were killed without provocation were buried in a mass grave between Gwantu Kurmi and Kobin.
“It was not only our people that were killed. I am told that an Igbo man, who had lived long in Kobin, was killed along with his wife and his shop burnt by the Fulani herdsmen.
“Our land has been desecrated and we are deeply mourning. We do not expect the government to treat this with levity by taking our peaceful and law abiding nature for granted.”
Meanwhile, the 24 hour curfew imposed on the area is still in force.

It’s About The Life Hereafter… ·

FRIDAY 27 ·

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? (Mark 8:36).

Pastor Chris
Many people live their lives as though this world is where it all ends; but there’s a life hereafter. Even if God gave you two hundred years to live in this world, it would still be over some day. After all, he gave some over nine hundred years to live in Bible days, but they still died and left this world. It doesn’t matter how many years you live on earth, what matters is whether or not you lived in the righteousness of God, glorifying Him with your life.

The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." If all you do with your years on earth is to seek to make yourself happy, and fulfil your own dreams, that’ll be an empty life. When we all stand before the Lord at the end, when He judges all things, His only concern would be what you did with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He’d only be interested in how you lived the Word, fulfilling and expressing His righteousness. So, it’s about the life hereafter.

Our life in this world isn’t essentially for this world; you’re in this world to decide where and how you’ll live eternity. The despots and dictators of yesteryears thought they would live forever in this world, so they built kingdoms and stored up fortunes for themselves; but today, they’ve taken their place in eternity. No wonder Jesus asked the thought-provoking question in our opening verse: "...what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?"

If a man had all the fame and glamour in the world, and lived and died without Christ, what would that be, compared to the anguish of living eternally in hell? We must therefore continue to preach the Gospel and teach men, women, young people, and children in our world and in the regions beyond that life on earth is short; eternity is all that matters. The time to serve the Lord with wholehearted devotion, and make Him your number one focus, is now.

Prayer

Dear Father, I thank you for helping me see and appreciate the purpose of my life in the earth, in preparing for the life hereafter. My life is dedicated to the spread of the Gospel, and the establishment of your righteousness in the hearts of men and women around the world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

We gave too much respect to Argentina – Keshi

Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi reviewed the 3-2 loss to Argentina in their last group match that saw them qualifying to the second round of the World Cup, saying that Nigeria gave Argentina too much respect.
‘’I think that we gave Argentina too much respect in the first half. That is why we played deep not trying to concede goals. It is not in our character to play defensive game.

We are known for attacking football like Argentina. But that changed in the second half and we took control of the game and the possession.
I think that the game was good with my players improving in all games
Messi is from Jupiter
Stephen Keshi also poured encomiums on Argentine player Lionel Messi .
Despite the loss, Nigeria finished second behind Argentina and moved into the second round to face France.
Asked if his team played against Argentina or Messi, he laughed and said; ‘’Messi is a blessing to football. You can’t take it away from him.
There are other talented players in the Argentine team but I think that Messi is from another planet. Messi is from Jupiter”, he said causing an uproar of laughter from the media.

123 killed in Kaduna attacks........

By Luka Binniyat
KADUNA— NO fewer than 123 people are feared killed in the continued onslaught on some villages in Sanga Local Goverment Area of Kaduna State, yesterday, by Fulani gunmen.
On Monday, 38 persons were killed in night raids on two villages, with several persons injured. Meanwhile, a 24-hour curfew has been imposed on the council by its chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Adamau.
The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has condemned the killings, calling on residents of Kaduna State to respect the sanctity of lives. The local CAN leadership of Sanga has put the death toll at over 100.
Tuesday, Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Shehu Umar, had said: “I can confirm the death of 18 persons and several others wounded. We have also arrested three persons in connection with the crisis. They were arrested with three AK-47 rifles and about 158 rounds of ammunition.”
He said investigation had commenced into the remote cause of the crisis, while those arrested are undergoing interrogation.
The attacks continued yesterday while an international conference on Security and Development Challenges of Pastoralism in West and Central Africa was taking place in Kaduna.
The Secretary, CAN, Kaduna State branch, Mr. SundayIbrahim told newsmen, yesterday: “Reports reaching me from our Sanga branch reveals that terrible things has happened to our members there. We are told that over 100 people have been killed from yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon into the night. This is very sad.
“Residents of Kaduna State must learn to respect the sanctity of human lives. No religion preaches murder. The villages that were attacked were Dogon Daji, Kobin, Naidu, Kabamu Karshi, Hayin Kwanta, Kabani and Gani.
“Some people have been arrested among the attackers and were identified as Fulani men. I believe that they are terrorists because the Fulani that we live with cannot do this thing.
“I call on the state government and security agencies to intensify security on our vulnerable communities and I want to urge our people to stay calm and not take the law into their hands for that will not be the way of Christians.”
Filled mortuary
The National President of Ninzom Progressive Youth, NPY, Mr. Bezard Wuyah, told Vanguard on phone that the mortuary in Gwantu is filled with corpses, while hundreds of injured persons have been taken for treatment.
He said: “We have lost at least 120 people and we are still picking corpses from the bushes. This morning, we picked five dead bodies in another village.”
Shehu Ajetu, the Councillor representing Gwantu, said: “We cannot give a definite number of people that have been killed because in some of the villages that were attacked, it is difficult to bring out corpses from the villages to Gwantu.
“Some were killed when they were running into the bush. Besides, everybody is afraid of being ambushed. In Kobin village alone, 37 people were killed. We believe that the casualties are more than this because a lot of people are still missing in Kobin.
Refugees
“Hundreds of people from the villages have relocated to Gwantu and are staying in refugee camps. The refugee camps are at the Gwantu Primary school and the Divisional Police Station.
“Soldiers and police were deployed to control the situation, unfortunately because the rural communities are not easily accessible, it was difficult for the security agents to stop the killings.
“The Fulani were well armed with AK-47 rifles. The villagers were very helpless. They do not have anything to defend themselves with apart from sticks and machetes.
“It was a well planned attack because they invaded the communities at the same time. They were spread across the local government area and that even made it more difficult for the communities to give each other a helping hand.
“Some months ago, there was an issue concerning the Fulani and the Numana chiefdom which was being investigated by security agents. The Fulani notified all their people to leave Sanga Local Government before they attacked.
“They even gave a notice that they will strike, but nobody knew when they will strike. We were thinking that they will strike in the area where they had problem. So everybody was taken by surprise when they decided to attack many communities.”
Breakdown of casualties
One Christopher Chisom, a local vigilante leader from Gwantu, who spoke to Vanguard, said: “They killed 38 in Kobin, 21 in Dogon Daji and burnt almost all the houses.
“In Naidu, 16 people were killed, while in Kabamu we lost 30. About 10 were shot to death in Kabani and nine in Gani. They are mostly women and children.
“The police are saying they must be given mass burial, but we want to take our loved ones and give them decent burial. And now some of the corpses are decomposing.”
Vanguard could not confirm this figure, as the Kaduna State Police Commissioner,  Umar, and Kaduna State Police spokesman did not pick their calls or respond to a text message seeking to verify the figures.
