BREAKING NEWS: IMPORTED RIFLES FROM TURKEY

The Tin-Can Island command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intercepted another 2,671 rifles illegally imported into Nigeria. The guns were alleged to have been imported from Turkey through profiling approach.

The comptroller-general of NCS, retired Col Hameed Ali, told journalists in Lagos on Thursday, September 21 that the seizure was the fourth at the Lagos ports within eight months, The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports. “Following the increase in the number of arms seizures in recent times, the Customs Area Controller of Tin-Can Port, Comptroller, Yusuf Bashar, ordered a detailed profile of all imports, especially those coming from Turkey.

REVOKE KANU UK CITIZENSHIP……...A GROUP

A Nigerian group in the UK, Citizens United for Peace and Stability (CUPS). The group claimed that they have started compiling evidence to get the UK government to revoke the citizenship of the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu.

The group's convener, Idris Ahmed, accused the IPOB of terrorism and said the group would take necessary steps to get the UK government to withdraw Kanu's citizenship. Ahmed, on his Facebook page, wrote: “Beyond any doubt, IPOB is a terrorist organisation. I have watched so many video clips on Facebook in which Nnamdi Kanu talked about mobilising weapons and financial resources to wage war against the Nigerian State”.

THREE DEAD AS IPOB INCREASE AGITATIONS….

It has been time of confrontations between the Indigenous People of Biafra and security operatives where three members of the former allegedly lost their lives in Umuahia, Abia state

The IPOB members were accused of attacking the residence of police commissioner in Umuahia - They were also alleged to have set vehicles inside the compound of the commissioner's house on fire

However, it has been reported that uneasy calm has been restored to Umuahia. Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra have reportedly attacked the residence of police commissioner in Umuahia, the state capital of Abia state.

Also, three members of the IPOB were allegedly shot dead by security officers in the state capital. The IPOB members were also accused of setting fire on the vehicles in the compound of the police commissioner.
