Fashola clashes with Tinubu over elections

Sources indicate that there is a clash between the incumbent power in Lagos, Governor Babatude Fashola, and the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu over gubernatorial elections. The latter was angry with the Governor before and during the just concluded APC gubernatorial primaries in the states.

Indications grew towards the governor's preferred candidate, which he told Tinubu that he didn't have any yet and later came up with a former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in the state, Olasupo Shahore.

The winner of the primary election, Akinwunmi Ambode who won with 3,735 votes was the Leader's preferred candidate. He prevails over who contested for the APC ticket, which are Sasore; Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji; a former Commissioner for Health, Dr. Leke Pitan; an incumbent Commissioner for Works, Obafemi Hamzat; a former aide to Tinubu, Tayo Ayinde; Adekunle Disu, Mr. Wahab Tokunbo, Olanrewaju Ope and a former Commissioner for Rural Affairs, Mr. Tola Kasali.
