No consensus candidate in APC, says Atiku

Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, former Vice President has disclosed that there would be no consensus presidential candidate for the party which Nigerians knows to be the major opposition, All Progressive Congress, APC. Aiku, who is a Presidential aspirant of the APC, made the statement in Akure, the capital of Ondo State after holding several meetings with delegates and party leaders in the state as part of hismobilization drive.

Imo State Film Academy collapses after a week of commissioning (photos)

It is really shocking just after a week of commissioning the new IMO State Film Academy, it came down to the ground. It was gathered that the building gave way due to the result of substandard material, but it has been disagreed by Engr. Chidi Ibe, the state commissioner for Information, while stating it was due to an accident.


Fashola to re-register for Voter's card, INEC

The Independent Electoral Commission has shockingly told the Lagos state governor and others to re-register if they want to have a permanent votercard. INEC on Friday failed to distribute Permanent Voter Cards at the Ward G3, State Junior Secondary School, the polling unit where the State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, and his wife, Abimbola, registered.

University of Ibadan graduates 222 first class

On Monday, November 17 at the convocation ceremony at the university of Ibadan witness the graduation of 222 students with first class Degree, with a total number of 7,786 graduating students receive their first degree certificates. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Isaac Adewole during his address said that due to strike action embarked by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in 2013, the convocation ceremony could not hold.

Babatunde Fashola (SAN), Governor of Lagos has written to the President of the federation, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan over the subsidy reinvestment funds program and Federal Road Maintenance Agency. On 27 November 2014, Thursday, at the Eight Town Hall meeting on security which was held at the City Hall, Lagos around the island axis of the state. Explosion in Adamawa kills 35

A bomb explosive on Thursday morning has left no less than 35 people with five Army personnel and a local hunter dead around Mararaba-Mumbai area of Adamawa State. Stated by Vanguard, a Yola resident told journalists that a joint team of the military and local hunters on everyday patrol of the region following their effective recapture of the Mubi town when the bomb fixed by the insurgents detonated killing 35 people promptly.

Wole Soyinka discloses his health status today

Professor Whole Soyinka, Nobel Prize Laureate, discussing with journalists today announced the sad news about his health condition. Soyinka, who celebrated 80 in July, is a renowned and respected playwright, poet, essayist and activist. Born in Ogun State, he became the first African to have been awarded the Nobel prize in literature (1986).


Breaking News: Crowded market in Maiduguri hit by Female bombers

It gathers this morning that two female suicide bombers have hit one of the crowded market in Maiduguri, Borno State capital, killing several people. Citing from eye witness, they disclosed that the bombers detonated their explosives from the Monday market in the metropolis.

Ugandan baby tortured by Nanny

The 2-year-old Aneela Kamanzi, the Ugandan baby that attracts the minds of thousands both Nigerians and Ugandans is now recovering. She was being assaulted by the Nanny on November 15, which was really severe because she did sustain so many injuries. She was punished by the Nanny after vomiting while eating dinner.

Goodluck Jonathan commends universities for fund usage

Dr Goodluck Jonathan, President of the country has declared that both federal and state universities across the country have experienced improved infrastructure since his administration to power through the Needs Assessment Fund and other intervention funds like the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).

At Benin City in Edo, where the President during the 39th and 40th convocation ceremony of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), also commending the effort of Prof. Osayuki Oshodin, the outgoing Vice Chancellor (VC) of the university.

Female suicide bomber blasts Federal College of Education, Kontagora, Niger State

Just about to leave the pains that Nigeria undergo due to the suicide bomb attack that left about 50 secondary school students dead in Potiskum, Yobe State. NLC warns FG over Tambuwal

Sound of warning has been expressed by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC over Aminu Tambuwal, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, to the Federal Government and security operatives. They insisted that noting should happen to him, it was an issued statement from the NLC president, Abdulwahid Omar.
A copy of this statement by the president was obtained from the Premium Times. He reacted to the withdrawal of Tambuwal’s security details that it was shameful, distasteful, and unconstitutional. This withdrawal was initiated due to his defection from the ruling party PDP tp the opposition party APC.
