Fashola to re-register for Voter's card, INEC

The Independent Electoral Commission has shockingly told the Lagos state governor and others to re-register if they want to have a permanent votercard. INEC on Friday failed to distribute Permanent Voter Cards at the Ward G3, State Junior Secondary School, the polling unit where the State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, and his wife, Abimbola, registered.

It was made known that some special INEC officials had earlier pasted a notice on the gate of the school in order to notify voters who had registered in the two wards on the Itolo Street that they had no PVC. This, the commission said the voters would have to re-register at a later date which was made known.
The notice posted at the entrance of the school read, “We regret to inform you that those who registered in this polling unit do not have Permanent Voter Cards. Please come back between 3rd and 8th of December 2014 for fresh registration.” Really explaining what happened, Lagos State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Adekunle Ogunmola, attributed the new development to loss of data arising from the crash of their computing system.
