Crisis in Oyo over park levy

Tuesday, 28 October, 2014, there was of properties worth millions of Naira which was as a consequence of a encounter between members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW and truck drivers at Express Quarry Nigeria Limited, on kilometer 15, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ekefa Village, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The incident rent 27 cars and 17 trucks damaged and many other valuable details. Stories were collected that the incident occurs as a termination of payment of N2, 500 by each truck driver to the NURTW. The purposes of dangerous weapons between the groups caused a bunch of injuries to people and were conveyed to the infirmary.
It was gathered that prior to the crash, members of the Oluyole Ibadan Granites Sellers and Hauler Association; truck owners, as well as drivers had staged a protest on Monday against further payment of the money to the NURTW office at the prey.
The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Kola Sodipo, who paid a visit to the scene of the incident, urged all those affected in the fracas to maintain public security. The police chief also promised that those behind the incident would be brought to book.
