
Wedding expenses for this December has made me break into drug trafficking, a 40-year-old patent medicine dealer agitates. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA has been capable to lay hold hands on the suspect, Chike Pauline. Who was being blocked out for outgoing Rwanda Air flight at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on Monday, with a kg of a substance suspected to be methamphetamine.
Hamza Umar, NDLEA Airport Commander disclosed that the suspect, a businessman who was based in Aba was heading to Bujumbura, Burundi. Quoting from the suspect statement, he said: “I am a patent medicine dealer in Aba, Abia State. My apprehension is really unfortunate because I am a hard working individual. I was deceived into drug trafficking because I was desperate to perform my marriage ceremony by the remainder of the year. I was optimistic that I will not be held back, but matters did not work according to my expectation”. He also demanded “What must I fare to set myself loose from this predicament?”
NDLEA has promised to attend this as a warning to all, that they will stop any kind of drug trafficking and the vendors will be brought to book.
