According to sources coming in now, it states that a section of the Dangote Agro sack factory on Oba Akran Road, Ikeja, Lagos got fire on Friday afternoon. Disclosing the tragic incident was the South-west spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Ibrahim Farinloye.

100 to 300 Boko Haram insurgents killed in Yobe

Reports reveal that the number of persons killed due to the recent attack on Damaturu, Yobe State has seen it on the increase. The number rising from 100 to 300 in the state capital, which was hurt by a ghastly attack on Monday, December 1. As a result, scores of civilians were murdered and a 24-hour curfew was imposed on the town.

The world has been waiting for the final release of the final shortlist of FIFA for this year's world player of the year award on Monday. According to thefederation official website, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, who have between them won the past six world player of the year awards, face opposition from Germany’s World Cup winning goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. The famous football star, David Beckham and his eldest son were involved in a severe accident on Saturday, Hertfordshire, London, UK. This occurred when the 39- year-old ex-footballer picked up his son from the training ground at Arsenal football club. The details of the car crash are sketchy, but judging from the pictures, the front side Beckham’s Audi RS6 was badly damaged.

University of Ibadan graduates 222 first class

On Monday, November 17 at the convocation ceremony at the university of Ibadan witness the graduation of 222 students with first class Degree, with a total number of 7,786 graduating students receive their first degree certificates. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Isaac Adewole during his address said that due to strike action embarked by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in 2013, the convocation ceremony could not hold.

Explosion in Adamawa kills 35

A bomb explosive on Thursday morning has left no less than 35 people with five Army personnel and a local hunter dead around Mararaba-Mumbai area of Adamawa State. Stated by Vanguard, a Yola resident told journalists that a joint team of the military and local hunters on everyday patrol of the region following their effective recapture of the Mubi town when the bomb fixed by the insurgents detonated killing 35 people promptly.

Female suicide bomber blasts Federal College of Education, Kontagora, Niger State

NLC warns FG over Tambuwal

Sound of warning has been expressed by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC over Aminu Tambuwal, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, to the Federal Government and security operatives. They insisted that noting should happen to him, it was an issued statement from the NLC president, Abdulwahid Omar.
A copy of this statement by the president was obtained from the Premium Times. He reacted to the withdrawal of Tambuwal’s security details that it was shameful, distasteful, and unconstitutional. This withdrawal was initiated due to his defection from the ruling party PDP tp the opposition party APC.

Crisis in Oyo over park levy

Tuesday, 28 October, 2014, there was of properties worth millions of Naira which was as a consequence of a encounter between members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW and truck drivers at Express Quarry Nigeria Limited, on kilometer 15, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ekefa Village, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The incident rent 27 cars and 17 trucks damaged and many other valuable details. Stories were collected that the incident occurs as a termination of payment of N2, 500 by each truck driver to the NURTW. The purposes of dangerous weapons between the groups caused a bunch of injuries to people and were conveyed to the infirmary.
It was gathered that prior to the crash, members of the Oluyole Ibadan Granites Sellers and Hauler Association; truck owners, as well as drivers had staged a protest on Monday against further payment of the money to the NURTW office at the prey.
The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Kola Sodipo, who paid a visit to the scene of the incident, urged all those affected in the fracas to maintain public security. The police chief also promised that those behind the incident would be brought to book.

Popular singer dies on naming ceremony

Feyisayo Mojisola Oyetade, a popular singer in the city of Abeokuta passed on Tuesday Oct. 14th in Sagamu, when celebrating her baby naming ceremony. It was sad news when Feyi, popularly known as facial collapsed suddenly; and was later rushed to a hospital, Sacred Heart Hospital in Lantoro, Abeokuta. On arriving to the hospital, it was corroborated that they fetched her in dead already. She got married to her producer, Abayomi Oyetade, she died along the same day her child’s naming ceremony was to take place.
